Kool Aid makes a great dye for wool. I recommend using an old roasting pan like the one pictured below, but you can use any large pan, and even an old crock pot. For bright colors use 3 pks of Kool Aid to 4oz of wool. Add 1/4 cup of vinegar and mix well. Place the wool into the dye mixture and submerge. Place pan on stove or into crock pot holder, and heat up slowly to boiling. Turn off, and let cool slowly. Leave in bath till cool. The water should be clear except Orange. Orange always has a bit of a residue left. Rinse wool carefully in cold water to set dye and let wool dry.

Most Kool Aid colors will work, but blues. Blues will work, but take about double the amount of Kool Aid to wool. Keep in mind that dye works along with your water's Ph. If your water is very basic, you may need to add more vinegar. Have fun!
